EC-Earth – EC-Earth a Global Climate Model

Time: October 13th - 17th (the meeting will not last for the whole week, but sessions will occur throughout the week)

This meeting will focus on the technical aspects of the EC-Earth model development, In particular, the meeting will 

  1. Report the state of the EC-Earth4 development
  2. Identify the remaining issues and possible solutions/plans toward finalizing a stable EC-Earth4 for production, and
  3. Prepare for the EC-Earth contributions to the CMIP7 Assessment Fast Track.

As in our last online meeting (in September 2024), each WG will organize a session of about 2-3 hours that are relevant for the corresponding component of the model or topic. The agenda of the session will be organized by the WG lead/co-lead and may include (but not limited to):

  • Talks that addressing the physical and technical implementation/impacts of the relevant processes/parameterizations. This may include invited presentations from experts outside of EC-Earth;
  • Open discussions on any issues encountered toward finalizing EC-Earth4
  • Plan the next step (development in the coming 6 months and beyond. 

We encourage you to contact the Steering Group (sy@dmi.dk) and/or the relevant Working Group leaders if you have any suggestions on the agenda or any issues/topics for discussions.
