Danish Climate Science Symposium 2025

Event Description

On 23-24 October 2025 the National Center for Climate Research at DMI are yet again hosting The Danish Climate Research Symposium.

This two-day event brings together climate researchers and key stakeholders from across Denmark and the Danish Realm for in-depth discussions on significant developments and topics within the field of climate change.

The symposium provides a platform for both technical climate discussions and interdisciplinary, society-relevant debates. Whether you're a researcher, policymaker, or practitioner, you’ll leave with new knowledge, fresh perspectives and hopefully valuable connections.

Day 1:

  • Recent Warming Trends: Expected or Beyond Models?
  • Mitigation Challenges and Solutions – From Denmark to the Global Stage
  • Monitoring the Changing Climate
  • Communicating Climate Change to the General Public
  • Biodiversity in a Changing Climate
  • When We Get the Facts Right but the Feelings Wrong: Science, Fiction, and Pedagogy in the Climate Endgame
  • Dinner at the end of the day

Day 2:

  • Storm Surges and Coastal Flooding in Denmark – Projections and Adaptation
  • Arctic Climate and Ecosystem Impacts
  • Climate Challenges in Cities
  • Tipping Points: Past, Present and Future

You will leave the symposium with new knowledge, fresh perspectives – and hopefully, valuable new connections.
