The Danish Antarctic Science Seminar (DASS) is a broad meeting for all scientists working in Antarctica or on Antarctic-related problems. It covers all scientific fields, including social science. DASS is held annually on the first Thursday in March at rotating institutes. This year DMI will host in collaboration with PICE at NBI. Each of the 5 home institutes, DMI, DTU, Copenhagen University, Aarhus University and GEUS will have half an hour to present their latest work, plans for future work and build collaborations. The contact person at each institute will coordinate presentations. If you are at a Danish Institute not named, you are very welcome to participate and present on behalf of your organisation, please let us know at registration.
This year, in collaboration with the Danish SCAR we will also take the opportunity to discuss the up and coming Antarctica InSync project (
https://www.antarctica-insync.org/) with an invited speaker from AWI to give more details and a discussion session after lunch. We will decide if there is interest to form a Danish national committee to coordinate contributions on this basis, so please do also reply if you would like to be involved in or kept informed on any activities relating to Antarctica InSync. If you can’t make the DASS meeting and would like to be involved/kept informed please write an email to Ruth Mottram at
rum@dmi.dk.
